Issues of legislative support for the development of the organic product labeling system in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Abstract. The article provides an overview of the current legislation regulating the labeling of organic products in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and assesses the legislative support for the development of the domestic environmental certification and labeling system. The prospects and importance of the use of environmental labeling signs in Kazakhstan were discussed.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the legislation regulating the labeling of organic products, assess its practical application, as well as the availability of opportunities and prospects for nominative support for the development of the domestic environmental certification and labeling system as a whole.

The authors see the relevance of the research topic in the need to develop an effective domestic labeling system for organic products. Accordingly, legal issues on the way to the full functioning of the labeling system are being studied, and possibilities for improving legislation are being considered.

The research methodology provides a review of legislation and legal literature, includes an analysis of the opinions of scientists and experts, on the basis of which recommendations are made by the authors. Taking into account the new draft law under discussion, forecasts have been made related to the development of this system in the country.
