Life imprisonment: issues of execution and provision of parole

Abstract

The work is devoted to the issues of execution of life imprisonment in accordance with the criminal and penal enforcement legislation of Russia and Kazakhstan. The article considers the psychological, social and economic problems that arise in this case, which make it difficult to apply parole to this category of convicts. It is proposed to apply to this category of convicts the "progressive system" proposed in the scientific literature for the execution of this type of punishment, and proposals are also made to improve it, which, in the author's opinion, can lead to ensuring not only the achievement of the goals of punishment, but also to ensure that by the time the possibility arises of applying his psychological parole to a convicted person
